Power BI Developer
Our client is seeking a Power BI Developer to join a growing data and analytics team focused on expanding enterprise reporting capabilities and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role will play a key part in designing and delivering impactful business intelligence solutions, partnering with stakeholders across multiple departments to transform complex data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Power BI expert who enjoys building solutions from the ground up, influencing reporting strategy, and helping organizations adopt modern analytics practices during periods of growth and transformation.
This role is a hybrid model in Corvallis, Oregon.
Power BI Developer Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that support business performance and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
- Build new reporting and analytics solutions from scratch while evaluating, consolidating, and modernizing existing reporting assets.
- Develop and optimize complex DAX calculations, measures, and data models to support scalable reporting environments.
- Create and maintain relational and dimensional data models that support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
- Collaborate with data platform and technology teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across reporting solutions.
- Support organizational adoption of data-driven practices by helping business users understand and leverage reporting tools effectively.
- Present dashboards, reporting insights, and recommendations to leadership teams and key stakeholders as needed.
- Contribute ideas and best practices that help shape the future direction of analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
Power BI Developer Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models in a business environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Power BI, including report development, visualization design, data transformation, and dashboard deployment.
- Strong SQL skills with experience writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex queries.
- Experience developing advanced DAX calculations, measures, and business logic within Power BI.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing principles.
- Experience building reporting solutions in cross-functional organizations with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small, evolving team environment.
- Experience supporting analytics initiatives within regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, government, or similar environments is preferred.
- Power BI certifications, including PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate), are preferred.
- Financial services, banking, or credit union experience is a plus.
