Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead
Our client is seeking a Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead to drive the transformation of a critical planning platform relied upon by business users to make high-impact decisions across multiple planning horizons. This individual will blend hands-on software engineering expertise with a forward-thinking approach to applied AI, modernizing legacy processes into scalable, intelligent solutions that improve efficiency, accelerate decision-making, and enhance the user experience. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable architecting technical solutions, partnering directly with stakeholders, and championing innovative ways of working that deliver measurable business value.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead Responsibilities

• Lead the modernization of a business-critical planning platform, evolving legacy workflows into scalable, cloud-enabled solutions that support long-term growth and adaptability.
• Identify and implement practical AI and machine learning capabilities that enhance forecasting, automate repetitive tasks, surface insights, and improve decision-making outcomes.
• Design, develop, and maintain data-intensive applications capable of processing large structured datasets, complex aggregations, and multi-dimensional planning scenarios.
• Architect and optimize data integrations and pipelines to replace manual processes with automated, reliable, and efficient data flows.
• Build intuitive user experiences that preserve the flexibility and speed users value while improving usability, performance, and maintainability.
• Partner closely with end users and cross-functional stakeholders to understand current workflows, gather feedback, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Own the full software delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and support existing tools throughout the transition period to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
• Serve as an advocate for modern engineering practices and AI-enabled ways of working through mentoring, demonstrations, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to broader technology initiatives by identifying repeatable patterns and opportunities to scale successful solutions across the organization.

Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead Qualifications

• Five or more years of software development experience with strong proficiency in at least two of the following areas: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, or cloud-native development frameworks.
• Demonstrated success delivering AI or machine learning solutions within production environments where users depend on the outcomes to support day-to-day operations.
• Proven experience modernizing legacy applications or processes from end to end, including architecture, data layers, user interfaces, deployment strategies, and adoption.
• Experience designing and building applications that manage large, structured datasets, sophisticated calculations, and highly detailed planning models.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for diverse audiences.
• Self-directed and proactive approach with the ability to establish priorities, define roadmaps, and execute independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders to rapidly iterate on solutions and continuously improve user experiences.
• Working knowledge of planning, forecasting, allocation, merchandising, supply chain, or similar operational processes is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with spreadsheet automation and an understanding of how to retain the speed and flexibility users expect while transitioning to modern platforms is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, prompt engineering, AI agents, or copilot-style experiences within enterprise environments is preferred.
• Exposure to modern cloud data platforms and orchestration technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or comparable solutions, is preferred.
• Experience within retail, consumer products, supply chain, or other data-driven industries is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree is not required; equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Compensation: Up to $64/hr. (DOE)
