HR Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the human resources function for a growing industrial organization with a hands-on workforce. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-directed HR professional who thrives in independent environments, enjoys building practical people processes, and can balance day-to-day operational execution with longer-term employee experience initiatives. The ideal candidate brings sound HR judgment, strong organizational discipline, and the confidence to serve as a trusted resource across multiple levels of the business.

This position is on-site in Hubbard, Oregon during onboarding with regular travel to Washougal, Washington.

HR Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead and independently manage the full HR function, serving as the primary point of contact for employee relations, people operations, and day-to-day HR support.
  • Oversee payroll administration through ADP, including timecard review, approvals, and coordination to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting activities, including sourcing coordination, interviewing, candidate evaluation, and onboarding for new hires.
  • Support the integration and onboarding of employees from newly acquired businesses, helping ensure smooth transitions and consistent HR processes.
  • Maintain, update, and improve employee policies, handbook documentation, and HR procedures to support organizational compliance and consistency.
  • Partner with employees and leadership on benefits administration, insurance-related questions, workplace concerns, and general HR guidance.
  • Develop and implement practical employee engagement and experience initiatives that align with the organization’s culture and operational environment.
  • Respond to ad hoc HR requests and operational needs across a multi-site workforce with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

HR Manager Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of experience in human resources, payroll, people operations, or related administrative leadership roles.
  • Hands-on experience managing payroll processes, preferably using ADP or a comparable HR/payroll platform.
  • Experience leading recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR policy administration.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight and confidently own the HR function.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through, sound prioritization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Creative and practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to introduce improvements that fit an established workplace culture.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, construction, logistics, or other operational workforce environments is strongly preferred.
  • Positive, adaptable, hands-on approach with a willingness to jump into both strategic and day-to-day HR responsibilities.

Salary: $90K–$110K/year. (DOE)
