Vice President of Land Acquisition Strategy
Our residential developer client is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven executive to lead land acquisition efforts across a multi-state Western U.S. footprint. This individual brings a balance of visionary thinking and hands-on execution, with the ability to navigate complex deals while building trust with stakeholders at every level. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with extensive land acquisition experience, strong financial acumen, entrepreneurial drive, and a disciplined approach to scaling growth.
This position is based in office Central Oregon and requires extensive travel throughout the Pacific Northwest. Candidates must live or plan to relocate to Central Oregon to be considered for this role.
Vice President of Land Acquisition Strategy Responsibilities
- Lead land acquisition strategy and execution across multiple Western U.S. markets to support long-term growth objectives.
- Build and maintain a multi-year land pipeline through sourcing, underwriting, and closing complex land transactions.
- Oversee and develop regional land acquisition teams, fostering a high-performance and accountable culture.
- Establish and manage relationships with landowners, municipalities, and key external partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align land strategy with development, financial, and operational goals.
Vice President of Land Acquisition Strategy Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in residential land acquisition, entitlement, and development.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams within a high-volume homebuilding environment.
- Strong understanding of land banking, financial underwriting, and proforma analysis for both raw land and finished lots.
- Demonstrated success negotiating and executing complex land transactions across Western U.S. markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
Salary: Base + Bonus DOE, excellent employee benefits package
