Service Advisor
Our client is seeking a customer-focused Service Advisor to serve as the central point of coordination within a busy service department. This individual will guide each repair from intake through completion, ensuring clear communication between customers, technicians, and internal teams while delivering a high-quality service experience.
This role is on-site in Jackson, Missouri.
Service Advisor Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between customers, technicians, parts, and service leadership to manage repairs from start to finish.
- Greet customers, gather detailed information on vehicle concerns, and document accurate repair descriptions during intake.
- Perform walk-around inspections at write-up, identifying and recording visible issues or customer-reported concerns.
- Proactively communicate with customers regarding repair status, timelines, costs, and any changes throughout the service process.
- Manage work-in-progress (WIP) within the service department, ensuring efficiency and timely completion of repairs.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external parties (e.g., insurance providers, dealerships) regarding approvals, payments, and participation.
- Provide clear guidance on service options, parts availability, warranty coverage, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Facilitate vehicle drop-off and pick-up processes while ensuring all service details and charges are accurately communicated.
- Maintain accurate documentation using internal systems and tools to support communication and service tracking.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive satisfaction and repeat business.
Service Advisor Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a service advisor, automotive service, or customer-facing coordination role.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to proactively communicate and anticipate customer needs rather than react to issues.
- Comfortable collaborating with technicians, parts teams, and leadership to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
- Experience with service management or industry-specific software systems is preferred.
- Basic understanding of diesel or heavy-duty vehicle service is a plus, but not required.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with attention to detail.
