Apparel Designer
Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Apparel Designer to support a performance-focused product design team within the women’s running category. This role blends technical execution with creative exploration, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys bringing concepts to life through both digital and physical design work. The ideal candidate brings a strong design voice, excellent technical skills, and a collaborative mindset.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Apparel Designer Responsibilities
- Support the design team in developing performance apparel concepts from initial ideation through execution.
- Create accurate 2D technical drawings, sketches, and renderings using industry-standard tools.
- Assist in building and maintaining design boards, including materials, trims, and sample organization.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from design reviews, fittings, and cross-functional partners.
- Contribute to design research, including gathering inspiration, trend analysis, and construction details.
- Update presentation materials to clearly communicate design intent and product direction.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including color, product management, and development, to ensure alignment.
- Maintain organized design files and support updates to seasonal product documentation.
Apparel Designer Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing performance apparel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to balance creative design with technical execution.
- Experience working with apparel construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong presentation skills and experience with tools such as Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, or Miro.
- Ability to take direction, iterate quickly, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with tools such as AI-driven design platforms or visualization software (e.g., Vizcom) is a plus.
- Previous experience within performance or technical apparel design environments is preferred.
- A portfolio showcasing apparel design work, including technical drawings and creative concepts, is required.
Compensation: Up to $36.67/hr. (DOE)
