Senior Technical Accountant
Our client, a growing and well-established organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Technical Accountant to support financial reporting, internal controls, and system-related initiatives within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working on complex reporting matters, strengthening internal processes, and partnering across departments to ensure accuracy and compliance. The position offers strong exposure to financial reporting, systems enhancements, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role is fully on-site in Houston, Texas.

Senior Technical Accountant Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Assist in the preparation and review of periodic financial reporting deliverables and supporting schedules
• Support internal control activities, including documentation, testing coordination, and ongoing monitoring
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Participate in financial reporting analysis and variance review processes

Systems & Process Support

• Support system-related initiatives, including implementation, upgrades, and ongoing process improvements
• Partner with IT and business teams to maintain effective controls within financial systems
• Assist in documenting workflows and strengthening operational processes
• Contribute to initiatives that enhance reporting efficiency, data integrity, and internal control effectiveness

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with accounting, finance, and operational teams to support accurate and timely reporting
• Coordinate with internal and external partners on projects related to reporting and compliance
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Senior Technical Accountant Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, including experience in a regulated or controlled financial reporting environment
• Prior experience in public accounting strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of internal controls and financial reporting processes
• Experience working with enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
