Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong foundation in manufacturing accounting to support critical accounting operations across multiple business units. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of complex reconciliations while bringing a process-improvement mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
This role is a hybrid model in Waukegan, IL.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
- Manage revenue recognition and lease accounting activities, including related calculations, entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Support manufacturing and cost accounting activities, including standard costs, cost variances, inventory data, and work-in-progress/project accounting.
- Prepare and analyze financial, backlog, bookings, cash, and other operational accounting reports while supporting internal and external audits.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, documentation, controls, and overall Finance team efficiency.
Senior Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and solid professional accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition, month-end close, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Experience with lease accounting, preferably ASC 842, along with exposure to standard costing, inventory, or manufacturing cost accounting.
- Public accounting or audit experience is highly preferred, particularly supporting manufacturing, larger organizations, or public companies; CPA and SOX experience are preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel, including lookups and pivot tables, and experience working with ERP systems and analyzing large data exports.
Salary: $95K–$110K/year + Bonus. (DOE)
