Lead Footwear Color Designer
Our client is seeking a highly creative and strategic Lead Footwear Color Designer to drive seasonal color direction and storytelling within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. This individual will bring a strong balance of design expertise, communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to present confidently to both internal leadership and external partners. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, translates consumer insights into compelling narratives, and brings a deep passion for sport and innovation.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Lead Footwear Color Designer Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of seasonal color direction and narratives for performance footwear collections, with a focus on basketball.
  • Translate consumer insights, cultural trends, and performance needs into compelling color stories and design concepts.
  • Present design vision and concepts to internal leadership and external partners, including collaborators and stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including design, product management, and development to execute on creative direction.
  • Create and refine digital design assets using tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D visualization platforms.
  • Support prototype reviews and ensure color intent is accurately translated into final product.
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Contribute to seasonal direction work, helping shape innovative and trend-forward color strategies.

Lead Footwear Color Designer Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in color design, footwear design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with experience in tools such as Miro, CLO 3D, and Vizcom.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, textiles, and material applications within product design.
  • Demonstrated ability to present design concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within product creation environments.
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate insights into visual narratives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: Up to $46.67/hr. (DOE)
