Accounting Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who can quickly integrate into a fast-paced, high-volume accounting environment and provide steady, hands-on support during a period of transition. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and confident navigating complex accounting operations while balancing competing priorities and maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.

This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities

• Support accounting leadership with day-to-day operations, priorities, and workload coverage during a period of organizational and systems transition.
• Lead and support month-end close activities, including reviewing journal entries and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Manage accounting activities within a high-volume environment involving a complex chart of accounts, inventory, sales, service, and related transactions.
• Provide hands-on accounting expertise while identifying issues, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong financial controls.
• Assist the accounting team through an ERP implementation while maintaining continuity of core accounting processes and deadlines.

Accounting Manager Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA certification is a plus.
• Accounting Manager or Senior Accounting Manager-level experience with strong close and journal entry review expertise.
• Prior interim, consulting, contract, or public accounting experience with the ability to become productive quickly.
• Experience working with high transaction volumes, complex charts of accounts, and ERP/accounting systems.
• Dealership industry experience strongly preferred; retail or distribution experience is also relevant, with experience using dealership management systems or industry-specific ERP platforms a plus.
