Quality Assurance Data Analyst
Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Data Analyst to join a close-knit, collaborative team that connects face to face on camera each day. This team celebrates wins together, supports one another, and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality data in a fast-moving environment. Success in this role means staying calm and organized while juggling urgent priorities.

This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Idaho, or Nevada.

Quality Assurance Data Analyst Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of data updates, extracts, and large-volume imports, including those with millions of records, by interpreting complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
  • Write, run, and evaluate test queries in SQL Server and Excel to confirm that data meets requirements.
  • Develop test plans and test cases that cover standard records, exceptions, and unusual data scenarios.
  • Partner with data engineers, business analysts, and fellow QA team members to identify, document, and troubleshoot defects, then confirm fixes promptly and thoroughly.
  • Adjust to shifting priorities and complete multiple time-sensitive tasks each day while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Review requirements specifications to spot gaps and inconsistencies, and work with business partners to define clear testing criteria.
  • Follow established departmental standards, processes, and methodologies, and provide dependable peer review to catch errors before delivery.
  • Keep a documented record of completed work so that results are transparent and accountable.
  • Log time accurately, to the tenth of an hour, against project work to support precise reporting and client billing.
  • Communicate professionally and proactively with teammates, project managers, leadership, and clients, providing timely status updates.
  • Handle disagreements constructively by focusing on solutions and de-escalating tension rather than adding to it.

Quality Assurance Data Analyst Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, with enough exposure to read and understand moderately complex queries and logic. Expert-level skills are not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a firm commitment to following process in order to ensure quality.
  • Clear, effective verbal and written communication, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and work well in a connected, interdependent team.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Ability to multi-task across several projects in a dynamic setting with immediate deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent industry experience.

Preferred:

  • Advanced T-SQL skills, including subqueries, transactions, indexing, error handling, views, temp tables, common table expressions, stored procedures, user-defined functions, and triggers.
  • Two or more years of database testing experience, including writing and executing complex SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with ETL concepts and tools, as well as basic data modeling.
  • Background as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Process Specialist, or similar role involving capturing and breaking down business requirements.

Compensation: $33-$38/hr. (DOE)
