Data & Process Automation Analyst
Our client is seeking a Data & Process Automation Analyst to join a business operations team focused on improving data accuracy, strengthening processes, and replacing outdated spreadsheet and database workflows with modern, automated solutions. This role sits within a business unit rather than IT and works under an established governance framework for employee-built technology solutions.

This role is a hybrid model in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Data & Process Automation Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize automated workflows, applications, and reporting tools using Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI.
  • Modernize legacy Excel, Access, and VBA-based processes by moving them to scalable, sustainable technology solutions.
  • Analyze complex business, process, and data challenges, then recommend and implement solutions that improve performance and outcomes.
  • Lead reporting, reconciliation, and data governance activities that call for strong independent judgment.
  • Take ownership of designated operational processes, strengthening controls and keeping documentation current.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, set priorities, and deliver solutions that raise productivity and data quality.
  • Identify systemic process, data, and technology issues, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Lead or coordinate multi-team projects, anticipating risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and maintain standards, procedures, and governance practices that promote consistency and compliance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on business processes, reporting, and automation, and mentor teammates on best practices.
  • Explore analytics, automation, and AI tools to increase organizational effectiveness.

Data & Process Automation Analyst Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, automation, or process improvement using a modern technology stack.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Familiarity with Access and VBA-based processes, along with a genuine interest in modernizing them.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear, professional communication with business stakeholders and a solid grasp of operational processes.
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple deliverables.
  • Background supporting business operations or back-office functions is a plus.

Salary: $85K/year.
