Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant who can balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with a broader understanding of financial reporting and business operations. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, self-directed professional with sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and integrity.

This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and related accounting activities.
• Complete intercompany accounting and reconciliation activities to ensure accurate financial records.
• Partner with internal teams and affiliated business units to support timely, high-quality financial reporting.
• Perform internal control procedures and maintain compliance with applicable financial reporting and control requirements.
• Contribute to accounting initiatives and special projects while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting.

Senior Accountant Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience with strong knowledge and practical application of U.S. GAAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification preferred; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to understand broader business impacts.
• Experience with ERP or general ledger systems such as SAP, QuickBooks, or comparable financial platforms preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams; utility industry accounting experience is a plus.

Compensation: $55-$60/hr. (DOE)
