Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to provide hands-on engineering support within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a resourceful and collaborative problem solver who enjoys working close to production, takes initiative with limited direction, and can turn complex engineering requirements into practical solutions that improve safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

This role is on-site in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support for aircraft final assembly and systems integration, working closely with production teams to troubleshoot build challenges and resolve root causes.
• Develop, maintain, and improve assembly sequences, manufacturing methods, routings, and operation content for aircraft systems and final assembly processes.
• Identify and implement improvements that enhance production flow, safety, ergonomics, quality, manufacturability, and overall efficiency.
• Partner with Design Engineering to evaluate new designs and engineering changes for manufacturability and translate design intent into effective production processes.
• Reconcile engineering and manufacturing bills of material (eBOM/mBOM) and maintain alignment across engineering documentation, production systems, and shop-floor execution.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings, CAD models, work instructions, tooling requirements, and technical documentation supporting production activities.
• Investigate production issues using structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, driving corrective actions through implementation.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Tooling, and Configuration Management to resolve issues and support manufacturing objectives.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience, preferably involving aircraft final assembly, aircraft systems integration, or complex low-volume production.
• Practical knowledge of multiple aircraft systems, which may include electrical, avionics, hydraulics, fuel, flight controls, brakes, oxygen, or environmental systems.
• Demonstrated experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing sustainable process improvements.
• Strong design-for-manufacturability knowledge with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and 3D models.
• Experience developing manufacturing documentation, work instructions, drawings, CAD models, routings, or similar production engineering deliverables.
• Experience with eBOM/mBOM management and ERP, PLM, CAD, or comparable engineering and manufacturing systems; experience with leading industry platforms is preferred.
• Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or related process optimization experience is preferred.
• Ability to operate independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and identify solutions without relying on highly prescriptive processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across production, engineering, and other multidisciplinary or globally distributed teams.

Salary: $120K-$140K/year + Bonus. (DOE)
