Senior Developer (Part-Time)
Our client is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to provide short-term, part-time support for an established digital product. The ideal candidate is a self-directed, solutions-oriented developer who can quickly understand an existing codebase, address technical challenges, and collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team while requiring minimal oversight.

This role is fully remote working around 20 hours per week.

Senior Developer Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve an existing web application by addressing technical debt, defects, and areas requiring refactoring or modernization.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance front-end functionality using Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues, determine root causes, and implement maintainable solutions within an established codebase.
• Partner with back-end engineering, quality assurance, and project stakeholders to prioritize and deliver development work.
• Participate effectively within an established sprint cadence, balancing immediate fixes with longer-term product maintainability.
• Review existing implementation patterns and identify opportunities to improve code quality, performance, usability, and scalability.
• Communicate technical considerations, progress, risks, and dependencies clearly to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Work independently to move assigned initiatives forward while maintaining alignment with broader product priorities.

Senior Developer Qualifications

• Senior-level front-end development experience supporting and evolving production digital products or web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js in established, production-level applications.
• Strong proficiency with Tailwind CSS and modern responsive front-end development practices.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting legacy or existing codebases, reducing technical debt, and performing thoughtful refactoring.
• Proven ability to quickly navigate unfamiliar code and deliver solutions with limited direction or hand-holding.
• Experience working within Agile or sprint-based development environments alongside engineering, QA, and project or product partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
• Product development experience strongly preferred over experience focused primarily on standalone marketing websites.
• Experience incorporating accessibility standards and best practices into web applications is a plus.
