Inventory Planner
Our client is seeking an experienced Inventory Planner to support end-to-end supply and inventory planning within a fast-paced, high-volume consumer products environment. This role is ideal for an analytical planner who can translate complex demand and supply data into clear business actions, confidently communicate recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders, and adapt quickly as priorities evolve.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Inventory Planner Responsibilities
- Manage supply and inventory planning activities for an assigned product segment, balancing demand requirements, inventory targets, and product availability.
- Analyze large and complex demand, supply, and inventory data sets to determine purchasing needs, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend timely actions.
- Execute supply commitments and purchasing activities, including purchase order creation, exception management, and ongoing adjustments based on changing business needs.
- Monitor inventory health, delivery performance, and supply constraints, proactively addressing or escalating issues that could impact demand fulfillment or expected timelines.
- Translate planning data and key business metrics into clear, actionable stories and present findings, recommendations, and updates to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner closely with demand, assortment, marketplace, merchandising, operations, and global supply planning teams to align inventory decisions with broader business objectives.
- Track product movement through the supply chain and communicate delivery expectations, inventory risks, and potential solutions to appropriate business partners.
- Support recurring planning cycles and ensure purchasing and inventory actions are completed according to established timelines.
- Serve as a planning subject matter resource on projects and initiatives that impact supply, inventory, systems, or day-to-day planning processes.
- Maintain flexibility between strategic analysis and hands-on operational execution within a dynamic and evolving environment.
Inventory Planner Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in supply planning, inventory management, supply chain planning, or a closely related function.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to evaluate large data sets, identify meaningful trends or risks, and convert findings into sound supply and inventory decisions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and data storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with formulas, pivot tables, and other tools used to analyze large data sets.
- Experience working with SAP ERP in a supply chain, inventory, or planning environment.
- Experience using Tableau and Cognos to access, analyze, and communicate planning and performance information.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, influencing, and facilitation skills with the ability to build productive relationships across multiple teams.
- Ability to make effective decisions amid ambiguity, shifting priorities, and time-sensitive business needs.
- Experience within apparel, footwear, or another consumer goods environment with a large and complex SKU assortment is preferred.
- Experience supporting planning-related projects, process improvements, or system releases is preferred.
Compensation: Up to $44.37/hr. (DOE)
