Controller
Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead key accounting initiatives and strengthen financial processes during an important period of organizational growth. This opportunity is ideal for a collaborative, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys improving systems, enhancing financial reporting, and driving process improvements in a complex accounting environment.

This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.

Controller Responsibilities

• Perform and review complex balance sheet reconciliations and ensure general ledger accuracy.
• Review budget-to-actual financial reports, analyze variances, and identify discrepancies or omissions.
• Develop and implement standardized accounting processes for areas such as prepaids, billings, and other key financial workflows.
• Oversee accounts receivable activities and support day-to-day accounting operations as needed.
• Assist with audit preparation and contribute to financial reporting and accounting system improvement initiatives.

Controller Qualifications

• Previous Controller or senior-level accounting experience in a complex accounting environment.
• Experience working with multiple cost centers, divisions, grants, contracts, or similarly complex financial structures; nonprofit experience is preferred.
• Strong background in financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, and audit preparation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, formatting, and lookup functions.
• Experience with mid-to-large ERP or accounting systems; familiarity with MIP is a plus.

Compensation: $45-$50/hr. (DOE)
