Cloud Network Engineer
Our client is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to help design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud networking solutions across hybrid infrastructure environments. This role is ideal for a networking professional with strong DNS expertise who enjoys improving cloud connectivity, automating infrastructure, and ensuring reliable network performance through modern engineering practices.

Cloud Network Engineer Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud networking infrastructure across hybrid environments, including virtual networks, subnets, route tables, and gateways.
- Manage enterprise DNS architecture, including DNS zones, records, name resolution, and traffic management to support highly available services.
- Configure and support hybrid connectivity solutions, including site-to-site VPNs, client VPNs, and cloud connectivity technologies such as ExpressRoute or Direct Connect.
- Troubleshoot network and DNS issues, including routing problems, connectivity failures, latency, and misconfigured routes.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for DNS and networking resources using Terraform while supporting CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Develop automation solutions that streamline network provisioning, DNS management, and configuration changes through version-controlled infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain network security components, including security groups, network security groups (NSGs), network ACLs, and secure connectivity patterns.
- Monitor cloud networking and DNS performance using native cloud monitoring tools, investigate Level 2 incidents, and participate in operational support as needed.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, and operational runbooks.
- Identify opportunities to improve network performance, increase operational efficiency, optimize cloud networking costs, and promote standardized network design practices.
Cloud Network Engineer Qualifications
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing fundamentals, subnetting, and CIDR.
- Hands-on experience managing enterprise DNS environments, including DNSSEC, BIND, and cloud DNS platforms.
- Experience administering cloud networking services within AWS, Azure, or both.
- Knowledge of AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, Linux BIND servers, and Windows DNS.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with familiarity using automation tools such as Ansible.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud networking and VPN connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with routing concepts, including static routing, dynamic routing, and basic BGP.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve networking issues.
- Experience with scripting, automation, and CI/CD practices for infrastructure deployment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical documentation abilities.
- Exposure to load balancing technologies and cloud traffic management is preferred.
- Professional networking or cloud certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Advanced Networking, AZ-700, CCNA, or CCNP, are preferred or currently in progress.
