Human Research Coordinator
Our client is seeking a Human Research Coordinator to support a cutting-edge research environment focused on ethical oversight, participant protection, and responsible innovation. This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Human Research Coordinator Responsibilities
- Support and help administer human research protection processes, including ethical and regulatory review workflows for research involving human participants.
- Conduct pre-review of research submissions to assess compliance with applicable ethical standards, institutional requirements, and federal human subjects research regulations.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for researchers, providing guidance on compliance requirements, research ethics, and protocol-related questions.
- Partner cross-functionally with scientific, research, and operational teams to assess risk, support participant protections, and recommend process improvements that balance innovation with compliance.
- Develop and deliver training, educational resources, and outreach initiatives related to human research protections and ethical research conduct.
- Maintain accurate documentation, audit-ready records, and research program data to support governance, reporting, and ongoing program effectiveness.
- Investigate focused compliance or fact-finding matters, synthesize findings, and present actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams while helping drive clarity in ambiguous or evolving research scenarios.
Human Research Coordinator Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, biomedical, health-related, regulatory, or similar field required.
- 5–7+ years of direct experience supporting human research protection programs, institutional review board (IRB) operations, or related research compliance functions.
- Strong knowledge of research ethics principles and federal regulations governing human subjects research, including HHS and FDA requirements.
- Experience reviewing research protocols, interpreting compliance requirements, and advising investigators or research teams on ethical research practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and communicate effectively with highly technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make policy-informed decisions in complex or non-routine situations.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage documentation, records, and multiple concurrent priorities.
- Experience with research databases or tracking systems such as Airtable, Excel, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Certified IRB Professional (CIP) designation or related certification is preferred.
- Exposure to applied human performance, sports science, biomechanics, physiology, or similar research environments is a plus.
Compensation: Up to $59.86/hr. (DOE)
