Diesel Mechanic / Technician
Our client is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic / Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and dependable service in a fast-paced dealership environment. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles while contributing to a team culture focused on efficiency, accountability, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to getting the job done right the first time.
This role is on-site in Jackson, Tennessee.
Diesel Mechanic / Technician Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and heavy-duty truck systems in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
- Accurately document work performed, including diagnostics, parts used, and labor time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with shop standards.
- Collaborate with service advisors and team members to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Diesel Mechanic / Technician Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a truck dealership or heavy-duty repair environment.
- Certifications such as Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and/or ASE Heavy Duty strongly preferred.
- Experience working on Freightliner or similar heavy-duty trucks is a plus.
- Familiarity with flat-rate or commission-based work structures preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain required personal tools; CDL Class A is a plus.
