Senior Apparel Product Designer
Our client is seeking a highly creative and strategic Senior Apparel Product Designer to lead innovative product design initiatives within a performance-driven apparel category. This individual will bring a strong point of view, elevated taste level, and deep understanding of both sport and style, with the ability to translate insights into compelling, athlete-informed designs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can confidently lead design direction from concept through execution.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Senior Apparel Product Designer Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end apparel design initiatives, driving concept development through final execution for complex product lines.
- Establish and execute a forward-thinking design vision that blends performance innovation with elevated style.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical development, materials, and product teams to ensure design feasibility and quality.
- Lead and participate in fit sessions, providing clear direction to refine garment performance, fit, and construction.
- Translate athlete insights and consumer trends into innovative design solutions that enhance product relevance and performance.
- Contribute to large-scale product resets or seasonal refreshes, bringing fresh perspective and creative direction.
- Partner with brand and innovation teams to align on storytelling, design intent, and overall product strategy.
- Present design concepts and seasonal direction to internal stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Stay current on industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies to continuously elevate product offerings.
- Support potential travel needs for athlete engagement, fittings, or team collaboration as required.
Senior Apparel Product Designer Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in apparel design, preferably within performance or sportswear categories.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating elevated design taste, personal aesthetic, and experience blending sport and lifestyle apparel.
- Proven ability to lead complex apparel design projects from concept through production.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including technical design, development, and materials.
- Deep understanding of apparel construction, fit, and performance-driven design principles.
- Expertise in apparel materials, including knits, technical fabrics, and performance textiles, is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in standard design tools and platforms; experience with emerging design technologies is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
- Prior experience within a large-scale or global apparel organization is preferred.
Compensation: Up to $56.67/hr. (DOE)
