Civil/Structural Engineer (Structural Design)
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Civil/Structural Engineer with a strong background in structural design and analysis within complex, highly regulated environments. This role is ideal for a technical expert who thrives in multidisciplinary settings, brings deep knowledge of structural systems, and can confidently lead design efforts while mentoring others. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking, sound engineering judgment, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.

This role is fully remote.

Civil/Structural Engineer Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design and analysis efforts for safety-related and non-safety-related structures using advanced engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Perform detailed evaluations and post-processing of analytical results for structures composed of concrete, steel, and other materials.
  • Develop and review technical documentation including design reports, calculations, specifications, and engineering studies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and ensure design alignment.
  • Oversee vendor and supplier deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, and contribute to resolving complex engineering issues.
  • Interface with contractors and regulatory entities, communicating technical concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Support adherence to quality assurance programs and safety standards within a highly regulated environment.

Civil/Structural Engineer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in structural design engineering, ideally within nuclear or similarly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in structural analysis and design for concrete and steel systems, including finite element analysis methods.
  • Advanced proficiency with ANSYS is required; experience with LS-DYNA is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., ASCE, ACI, IBC, AISC).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in compliance-driven environments with rigorous quality assurance standards.
  • Eligibility to work under U.S. Department of Energy regulations (10 CFR Part 810).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Salary: $121K-$146K/year. (DOE)
