Senior Project Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale telecommunications infrastructure initiatives, with a focus on modernizing voice radio and microwave communication systems. This individual will play a critical role in driving complex, multi-stakeholder projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, regulatory standards, and technical requirements. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who can balance technical depth with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.
Senior Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead complex, high-impact infrastructure projects, maintaining full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and outcomes.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, financial forecasts, and deliverables.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, operations, and leadership) to define project objectives and ensure successful execution.
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear updates.
- Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks, maintaining detailed risk logs and escalation plans.
- Oversee vendor and contractor relationships to ensure alignment with project timelines, costs, and quality expectations.
- Manage procurement and contracting activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Track project budgets and performance metrics, providing regular reporting and financial analysis.
- Coordinate dependencies across multiple projects and teams to ensure seamless program execution.
- Ensure system reliability, security, and compliance requirements are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead change management processes, including scope adjustments and documentation updates.
- Maintain accurate and complete project documentation across all phases.
Senior Project Manager Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience leading complex, large-scale projects or programs.
- Strong expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and timelines.
- Experience delivering mission-critical infrastructure or technology initiatives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility across all organizational levels.
- Experience facilitating meetings, navigating conflict, and driving alignment among diverse teams.
- Familiarity with change management and process improvement methodologies preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, technology, or a related field preferred.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
