Strategic Business Planner
Our client is seeking a Strategic Business Planner to support high-visibility strategy and growth initiatives within a consumer-focused business. This role will partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to evaluate opportunities, shape long-term priorities, and translate complex business insights into clear, actionable plans. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in strategic planning or consulting, experience within apparel or consumer goods, and the ability to navigate a large, matrixed organization while driving multiple workstreams forward.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Strategic Business Planner Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning initiatives focused on identifying growth opportunities, establishing business priorities, and translating long-term objectives into actionable plans.
• Evaluate complex business opportunities using structured analysis, market insights, financial considerations, and strategic frameworks to develop clear recommendations.
• Lead strategic workstreams from initial problem definition through analysis, alignment, recommendation, and execution.
• Partner across Finance, Insights and Analytics, Planning, Merchandising, Product, Brand, Marketplace, and other business teams to align priorities and advance strategic initiatives.
• Support senior leaders in evaluating business challenges, emerging opportunities, and investment priorities through thoughtful analysis and strategic recommendations.
• Develop integrated growth plans that connect consumer needs, marketplace opportunities, product strategies, and broader business objectives.
• Assess business performance against strategic priorities, identify key learnings, and develop KPIs and other measures to evaluate progress and impact.
• Create executive-level presentations, business reviews, scorecards, strategic workshop materials, and other communications that clearly synthesize complex information.
• Facilitate productive discussions across teams with competing priorities and help build alignment around shared objectives and decisions.
• Manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, coordinating milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
• Bring structure to ambiguous business challenges and proactively identify risks, opportunities, and next steps to keep work moving forward.

Strategic Business Planner Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in strategic planning, corporate strategy, management consulting, business operations, corporate finance, business development, or a related strategic function.
• Demonstrated strategy experience within apparel, consumer goods, retail, footwear, sports, or another consumer-facing industry.
• Proven experience working effectively within complex, cross-functional organizations and partnering with teams such as Finance, Insights, Planning, Merchandising, Product, Brand, and Marketplace.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, evaluate alternatives, and develop actionable recommendations.
• Experience independently leading strategic projects or multiple concurrent workstreams while driving teams toward key milestones and outcomes.
• Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, including advanced experience building polished presentations and strategic decks in Keynote or similar tools.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners without direct authority.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience interpreting business, market, consumer, and financial information to support strategic decision-making.
• Excellent prioritization and project management skills with the ability to quickly understand a new business environment and contribute with minimal ramp-up time.
• Strong business acumen with an understanding of growth strategy, business performance, and value creation.
• Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with practical execution and operational considerations.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to build credibility across functions and leadership levels.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Experience with financial modeling, quantitative and qualitative analysis, or long-range business planning is preferred.
• Interest or experience in sports, youth consumers, or consumer products is a plus.

Compensation: Up to $58.45/hr. (DOE)
