SAP BASIS Specialist
Our client is seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Specialist to provide technical leadership and administration for a complex enterprise SAP environment. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical SAP systems while partnering with cross-functional IT teams to support ongoing operations, enhancements, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with deep SAP infrastructure expertise and a strong focus on system reliability, documentation, and continuous improvement.

This role is fully remote.

SAP BASIS Specialist Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, maintenance, and technical support of enterprise SAP environments, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance across multiple SAP platforms.
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain SAP systems while coordinating system refreshes, migrations, backups, and recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot complex SAP infrastructure, application, database, and performance issues, serving as the primary technical resource for incident resolution.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, development, and business teams to support system enhancements, integrations, and ongoing operational needs.
• Monitor system health, capacity, batch processing, and performance, implementing proactive improvements to optimize reliability and scalability.
• Support cloud and on-premises SAP technologies, including enterprise integrations and platform services, while ensuring alignment with technical standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, operational procedures, disaster recovery plans, and administrative processes.
• Coordinate software releases, testing, and deployments, validating changes in non-production environments before implementation.
• Partner with software vendors to resolve technical issues, apply updates, and support long-term platform maintenance.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity efforts to ensure operational readiness.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual administrative tasks.
• Provide technical guidance, status updates, and occasional after-hours or on-call support as needed to maintain business-critical systems.

SAP BASIS Specialist Qualifications

• 5 or more years of progressive experience administering enterprise SAP BASIS environments in complex IT organizations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing platform administration.
• Deep knowledge of SAP technologies, including SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/BI, CRM, BusinessObjects, Process Orchestration, Fiori, SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, Cloud Connector, and Web Dispatcher.
• Experience supporting SAP environments across AIX, UNIX, Linux, Windows, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and HANA platforms.
• Proven expertise with SAP Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM for monitoring, diagnostics, and lifecycle management.
• Experience performing SAP system refreshes, migrations, change management, and transport coordination across enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of NetWeaver Java administration, including related SAP services and integration components.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning, system resiliency, backup strategies, and high-availability environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
