Research Associate
Our client is seeking a Research Associate to support large-scale, field-based research focused on human movement and performance. This role will help coordinate research studies, work directly with study participants, and transform collected data into meaningful insights. The ideal candidate combines hands-on human participant research experience with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and creative problem-solving skills.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Research Associate Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of large-scale field research studies involving human movement and performance.
- Conduct hands-on research activities with study participants, including data collection, study coordination, and testing support.
- Process, aggregate, analyze, and visualize research data to identify findings and support research objectives.
- Coordinate day-to-day study logistics, including participant communication, scheduling, equipment preparation, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with researchers and cross-functional team members to communicate study requirements, progress, and findings.
- Maintain research equipment, testing tools, supplies, and study-related inventory.
- Assist with developing research summaries, reports, presentations, and other materials that communicate study results.
- Support research activities in different field environments, with the possibility of domestic travel.
Research Associate Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience conducting research involving human participants.
- Experience with data processing, aggregation, analysis, and visualization.
- Hands-on experience supporting human subject testing, preferably within performance, movement, biomechanics, or related research.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple study activities and maintain accurate research documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with researchers, study participants, and other partners.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills in dynamic research environments.
- Familiarity with performance research methods or technologies such as wearable sensors, motion analysis, biomechanics testing, or similar tools.
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred, particularly in biomechanics, kinesiology, movement science, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or a similar programming language is preferred.
- Previous experience conducting research in an industry or applied research environment is a plus.
Compensation: Up to $33.33/hr. (DOE)
