HR Generalist (Part-Time)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented HR Generalist (Part-Time) to support payroll administration and core human resources functions for a growing organization. This role will focus on payroll coordination, timekeeping, benefits support, employee records, and day-to-day HR needs, making it well suited for someone who is highly accurate, organized, approachable, and comfortable managing sensitive employee information.

This role is on-site in Tigard, Oregon working around 12 to 20 hours per week.

HR Generalist Responsibilities

  • Coordinate payroll preparation by reviewing employee timecards, validating hours and job-costing information, resolving discrepancies, and submitting accurate payroll data to an external payroll processor.
  • Support weekly and biweekly payroll cycles, including reviewing overtime, paid time off, non-working hours, deductions, and other payroll inputs and reconciling completed payroll results.
  • Maintain accurate employee, compensation, benefit, and timekeeping information across payroll, HR, and job-costing systems.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, timekeeping, and HR policies, coordinating with external providers and resources when necessary.
  • Track benefits eligibility, assist employees with enrollment and qualifying changes, maintain benefit elections, and review benefit invoices for accuracy.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including processing required documentation and maintaining accurate personnel and confidential records.
  • Monitor timekeeping and labor-cost allocation to ensure employee hours are appropriately recorded and assigned within job-costing systems.
  • Prepare payroll, commission, labor, and other HR-related reports and maintain supporting documentation as required.
  • Assist with HR compliance by maintaining current policies and procedures and monitoring applicable employment and wage-and-hour requirements.
  • Provide HR support related to recruiting, compensation research, performance reviews, job descriptions, and other employee lifecycle activities as needed.

HR Generalist Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, payroll administration, or a closely related role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting payroll processes, including timecard review, payroll data preparation, reconciliation, and coordination with an external payroll provider.
  • Experience supporting employee benefits administration and responding to payroll, benefits, and general HR inquiries.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy with the ability to audit timekeeping and payroll information, identify discrepancies, and consistently meet processing deadlines.
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, ERP, or job-costing systems; familiarity with ADP and Viewpoint/Trimble or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills, along with strong electronic recordkeeping and organizational abilities.
  • Working knowledge of employment practices, wage-and-hour requirements, and general HR compliance principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively and professionally with employees, managers, and external service providers.
  • Self-directed and resourceful approach to problem-solving, prioritization, confidentiality, and deadline management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, Business, or a related field is preferred. Candidates currently pursuing a related degree may also be considered.

Compensation: $30-$35/hr. (DOE)
