While the position has a strong enterprise business analysis focus, the successful candidate will bring hands-on functional experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and the ability to apply that knowledge within larger business and technology initiatives.
This role is a hybrid model in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
D365 Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities across enterprise application initiatives, from initial discovery and requirements gathering through implementation, testing, and post-go-live support.
- Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, technical teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives, define needs, and establish project requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, process reviews, and other discovery activities to uncover business and system requirements.
- Analyze existing business processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and develop future-state workflows and recommendations for improvement.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, use cases, acceptance criteria, diagrams, and other clear solution documentation.
- Apply functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations to evaluate business needs, support solution design, and identify opportunities to improve enterprise processes.
- Develop current-state and future-state process models and visual workflows that clearly communicate business processes and system interactions.
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements, resolve conflicting needs, and maintain alignment between business objectives and proposed solutions.
- Evaluate enterprise applications and technology solutions for functionality, scalability, integration, reporting, data, security, controls, and overall business fit.
- Support solution evaluations, vendor and implementation partner activities, proposal reviews, and assessment of recommended solutions.
- Define testing requirements, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria while supporting user acceptance testing, defect resolution, data migration, cutover, and post-production stabilization.
- Maintain requirements and related documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring traceability, accuracy, completeness, and stakeholder alignment.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and continuous improvement across enterprise applications and business functions.
- Prepare business cases, feasibility assessments, option analyses, and other materials used to support technology and process decisions.
- Collaborate across finance, manufacturing, operations, and other business functions to understand cross-system dependencies and recommend practical solutions.
- Support change-readiness and adoption activities by contributing to training materials, solution documentation, and stakeholder communications.
D365 Business Analyst Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise applications, ERP platforms, digital transformation initiatives, or similarly complex business environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on functional experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze unfamiliar applications and business processes, quickly understand how systems work, and translate findings into clear workflows, diagrams, and requirements.
- Strong experience managing the business analysis lifecycle, including discovery, requirements elicitation, process modeling, solution definition, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.
- Proven ability to gather and document complex business and functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, process analysis, and other elicitation techniques.
- Strong understanding of enterprise application environments, including ERP systems, integrations, data flows, reporting, workflows, and dependencies between business applications.
- Experience developing business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, gap analyses, and other business analysis deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions with business and technical stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive clarity around complex requirements and solution decisions.
- Experience supporting software implementation, testing, defect resolution, data migration, cutover, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business problems and develop practical technology solutions.
