Communications & Marketing Director
Our client is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Communications & Marketing Director to lead enterprise-wide messaging, brand strategy, and stakeholder engagement efforts. This individual will bring a balance of vision and execution, guiding both long-term strategy and day-to-day communications in a highly visible, community-oriented organization. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, collaborative leader, and trusted advisor who can navigate complex environments while driving meaningful engagement.
This role is on-site in the greater Vancouver, Washington area.
Communications & Marketing Director Responsibilities
- Develop and lead integrated marketing and communications strategies that align with organizational priorities and long-term goals.
- Serve as a key communications advisor, managing media relations, public messaging, and sensitive communications with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Oversee brand positioning and content strategy across digital, print, and external-facing channels to ensure consistency and impact.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a communications and marketing team, establishing clear priorities and scalable processes.
- Leverage data, audience insights, and market trends to refine strategies and improve engagement outcomes.
- Drive external engagement initiatives, campaigns, and events that enhance visibility and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
- Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning, organizational initiatives, and enterprise communications.
- Manage departmental planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to support both immediate and long-term needs.
- Ensure alignment with applicable information governance practices and organizational policies related to communications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support internal communications, change initiatives, and organizational priorities.
Communications & Marketing Director Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, public administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public affairs, including leadership responsibilities.
- 2+ years of direct people management experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated success building and executing strategic communications and marketing plans across multiple channels.
- Strong experience in media relations, executive communications, and navigating high-visibility or sensitive messaging.
- Proven ability to manage brand strategy, content development, and multi-channel campaigns.
- Experience using data and insights to inform decision-making and optimize performance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience in complex, stakeholder-driven or mission-oriented environments is highly preferred.
