Business Planning Analyst
Our client is seeking a Business Planning Analyst to join a collaborative sales planning organization where data-driven insights, cross-functional partnership, and executive-level storytelling shape key business decisions. This role is ideal for an analytical professional who excels at translating complex business data into clear, actionable recommendations while coordinating planning activities across multiple stakeholders. Rather than owning forecasts, this position focuses on synthesizing information from various teams to create compelling business narratives that support strategic planning and leadership decision-making.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Business Planning Analyst Responsibilities
- Transform complex business, sales, and planning data into executive-ready presentations, insights, and recommendations that influence strategic decisions.
- Lead the development of monthly business reviews by consolidating inputs, building presentation materials, and crafting clear, data-driven narratives for leadership audiences.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across sales, planning, finance, and business operations to align priorities, reconcile data, and ensure consistent reporting.
- Analyze business performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and communicate findings in a way that supports informed decision-making.
- Coordinate planning deliverables, timelines, and recurring business processes while ensuring high-quality, accurate outputs across multiple workstreams.
- Build executive-level presentation decks and visualizations that simplify complex information for business leaders and key stakeholders.
- Support business planning initiatives by validating data, resolving reporting discrepancies, and maintaining alignment across internal teams.
- Foster strong working relationships across a highly matrixed organization while helping drive collaboration and planning execution.
Business Planning Analyst Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business planning, merchandising, analytics, sales planning, or a related business function.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to transform large datasets into meaningful business insights and communicate recommendations to non-technical audiences.
- Strong experience developing executive presentations and business review materials using PowerPoint or similar presentation tools.
- Proven ability to tell a compelling business story through data, visualizations, and concise executive communications.
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience supporting business reviews, planning cycles, or executive reporting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with retail performance metrics such as sales, sell-through, bookings, receipts, or similar operational KPIs is preferred.
- Experience using Tableau, AI-enabled analytics tools, or other business intelligence platforms is a plus.
- Previous experience in planning, merchandising, or a commercial business function is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
