Merchandising Specialist
Our client is seeking a Merchandising Specialist to join their footwear merchandising team supporting basketball, soccer, and field sports. This role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution, using data and market insight to shape product assortments and drive profitability. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and energized by a fast-moving environment, with a genuine connection to basketball culture.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Merchandising Specialist Responsibilities

• Build and maintain seasonal assortment plans aligned to the go-to-market calendar.
• Use data and analytics to uncover product opportunities, inform line reviews, and support end-to-end profitability.
• Partner with leadership on product strategy, line planning, and seasonal post-season analysis.
• Share seasonal product updates and key information with marketplace and direct-to-consumer partners.
• Coordinate product samples and develop the tools and resources used to communicate seasonal offerings.
• Collaborate with streetwear-focused teams to deliver a cohesive product story across the marketplace.
• Support product coaching and pricing decisions using marketplace point-of-sale insights.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships while staying flexible in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.

Merchandising Specialist Qualifications

• 2+ years of merchandising experience across retail and ecommerce products.
• Strong tactical and operational skills, with the ability to take ownership of a process from start to finish.
• Hands-on experience with seasonal assortment planning, visual assortment tools, product coaching, pricing decisions, and marketplace POS analysis.
• Demonstrated passion for basketball, clearly reflected on the resume.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in athletic footwear, apparel, or a related industry.
• Experience working with sales, local product creation, demand planning, and marketing teams, including managing communications between them.
• Proactive, high-initiative self-starter with a naturally curious mindset.

Compensation: Up to $32/hr. (DOE)
