PLS-CADD Technician
Our client is seeking a PLS-CADD Technician to support the development and maintenance of geospatial and transmission line models for utility infrastructure projects. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented individual with a GIS or geospatial background who is interested in developing specialized technical skills while collaborating with an experienced project team.

This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.

PLS-CADD Technician Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update PLS-CADD transmission line models using project specifications, engineering data, and established standards.
• Incorporate LiDAR, terrain, survey, and other geospatial data into transmission line models while maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Support the development of as-built models for transmission structures, including pole, lattice, framed, and guyed configurations.
• Assist with transmission structure modeling, analysis, and documentation using applicable PLS software and engineering information.
• Identify, document, and incorporate transmission line components and associated project data into models and deliverables.
• Review geospatial and engineering information for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate with analysts, engineers, and other project team members to complete drafting and modeling deliverables within established schedules.
• Maintain organized project files and consistently produce accurate work while managing repetitive or detail-intensive assignments.

PLS-CADD Technician Qualifications

• GIS certificate, associate degree, bachelor’s degree in progress, or comparable education in GIS, geospatial sciences, surveying, engineering technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret, organize, and work with technical and geospatial data.
• Ability and interest in learning PLS-CADD and additional geospatial, remote sensing, and transmission modeling technologies.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to maintain quality and productivity across multiple assignments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate within a technical team and incorporate feedback.
• Interest in LiDAR, remote sensing, surveying, geodetics, utility infrastructure, or related technical disciplines.
• PLS-CADD experience or prior experience working with transmission line models, utility data, or as-built engineering information is preferred.
• Familiarity with PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, or other transmission modeling tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of electric transmission or distribution systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet project deadlines.

Compensation: $20-$22/hr. (DOE)
