Quality Assurance Data Analyst
Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Data Analyst to join a highly collaborative, fast-paced team responsible for validating data accuracy across complex systems. This role is well suited to someone with strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and working familiarity with SQL, who thrives in a connected team environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
This role is fully remote.
Quality Assurance Data Analyst Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of data updates, extracts, and imports by understanding query logic, writing test queries, and confirming results against requirements.
- Review requirements and business rules to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential data issues before and during testing.
- Write and execute test plans and test cases covering normal, exceptional, and edge-case data scenarios.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, business analysts, and other team members to identify, document, and troubleshoot defects through resolution.
- Use tools such as Excel and SQL Server to directly query, assess, and validate data against requirements.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with team members, project leadership, and stakeholders, including timely status updates.
- Log time accurately and follow established processes and documentation standards to maintain accountability and traceability of completed work.
- Participate actively in a connected team culture, including regular video-based coordination, peer review, and mutual support to keep work on track.
- Respond effectively to shifting priorities and urgent, time-sensitive tasks without compromising quality or team collaboration.
Quality Assurance Data Analyst Qualifications
- Working familiarity with SQL for querying and analyzing data; deep development expertise is not required, but comfort reading and testing query logic is important.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established processes to ensure consistent data quality.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a tightly coordinated, team-based setting.
- Experience in a data analyst, business analyst, QA, or process specialist role involving requirements gathering and validation.
- Familiarity with relational databases and the ability to understand moderately complex query logic.
- Basic understanding of data modeling, data organization, and ETL concepts and practices.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage several priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
- Four-year college degree or equivalent industry experience.
