Leave of Absence Case Manager (Remote – EST)
Are you a detail-oriented and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting employees through challenging times? Our client is seeking a proactive and communicative Case Manager who thrives in managing leave of absence and workers’ compensation matters, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will be a skilled multitasker with a strong ability to manage caseloads, educate employees and managers, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional support throughout the leave and return-to-work process.

This is remote role available to those residing within a 2-hour commute to Boston, Massachusetts and will work around 20 hours per week.

Leave of Absence Case Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned leave of absence, disability, accommodation, and workers’ compensation cases while providing timely guidance and support to employees and managers.
  • Coordinate with third-party administrators, HR, Payroll, Benefits, Legal, Safety, and other stakeholders to facilitate compliant leave administration, wage replacement, and return-to-work processes.
  • Monitor case activity, maintain accurate documentation and system records, verify leave eligibility, process required communications, and track employee absences and work-related injuries.
  • Educate employees and managers on leave and workers’ compensation procedures, timekeeping requirements, available options, and responsibilities throughout the absence process.
  • Prepare and review leave and claims reports, identify trends or potential issues, participate in claims reviews, and proactively resolve barriers affecting employees before, during, or after leave.

Leave of Absence Case Manager Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of relevant experience supporting leave of absence, disability, workers’ compensation, benefits, HR, or related case management functions.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state leave, disability, workplace absence, and accommodation requirements, including ADA compliance; experience with FMLA, paid family and medical leave programs, multistate statutory leaves, and workers’ compensation is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience; professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, or CCP is preferred.
  • Strong technology and data management skills, including Microsoft Office and spreadsheets; experience with Kronos and Workday is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently, maintain confidentiality, adapt to changing needs, and exercise strong attention to detail and judgment.

Salary: $30+/hr. (DOE)
