Our client is seeking a driven, independent Outside Territory Sales Manager to grow business across an established multi-state territory. This opportunity is ideal for a polished B2B sales professional who excels at developing new business, building lasting customer relationships, and independently managing a geographically dispersed territory within the foodservice, beverage, restaurant supply, or product distribution industries.

This role is open to applicants located 50 miles of the Portland-area. Applicants must be available to attend occasional in-person meetings as needed, generally no more than a few times per month following training.

Outside Territory Sales Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop new business throughout the assigned territory through proactive prospecting, territory planning, networking, and relationship-building.
  • Build and expand relationships with distributors, dealers, buyers, and other key decision-makers to increase product adoption and territory revenue.
  • Independently manage sales activity across Oregon, western Idaho, southern Washington, and Utah, including regular customer visits and regional travel.
  • Apply a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and establish long-term business partnerships.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately track prospects, opportunities, customer activity, and forecasts within Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with leadership, marketing, and vendor partners to pursue leads, strengthen market presence, and identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Represent a diverse portfolio of products serving the foodservice, beverage, hospitality, restaurant supply, and distribution markets.
  • Negotiate pricing, support promotional initiatives, and develop account strategies focused on revenue growth and customer retention.
  • Monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and evolving customer needs to uncover new opportunities within the territory.
  • Consistently work toward territory sales objectives while operating with a high degree of autonomy, professionalism, and accountability.

Outside Territory Sales Manager Qualifications

  • 3+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience, preferably within coffee, tea, beverage, restaurant supply, food products, foodservice distribution, or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect for new business, develop a territory, and grow revenue in a field-based, hunter-oriented sales environment.
  • Hands-on Salesforce experience is required, including managing sales pipelines, customer activity, opportunities, and forecasts.
  • Experience developing relationships with distributors, buyers, dealers, vendors, or other decision-makers within a distribution-based sales environment.
  • Familiarity with coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beverages, food products, restaurant supplies, foodservice products, or related product categories is strongly preferred.
  • Existing knowledge of or relationships with relevant industry manufacturers, suppliers, or vendor partners is a plus.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities with a polished and professional approach.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented, with the ability to independently manage a large geographic territory.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned multi-state territory and attend occasional meetings at the corporate office.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience preferred.
