Accounting Manager
Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to serve as a hands-on accounting resource within a fast-paced, project-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong construction accounting expertise, a practical and detail-oriented approach, and the ability to manage competing priorities while serving as a trusted resource to the broader accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of accounting operations with potential for continued growth.
This role is fully onsite in the Woodburn, Oregon area.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities
- Manage construction accounting activities across multiple concurrent projects, including job costing, WIP schedules, and over/under billing analysis.
- Support month-end close and financial reporting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger activity, and financial statement preparation.
- Oversee in-house payroll processes and help ensure accurate payroll reporting and compliance across applicable jurisdictions.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and other day-to-day accounting activities to maintain accurate financial records.
- Serve as a knowledgeable accounting resource for the team while supporting audits, compliance requirements, internal controls, and ongoing process improvements.
Accounting Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on construction accounting and job costing experience.
- Strong knowledge of WIP accounting, job cost reporting, and managing financial activity across multiple active projects.
- Experience with in-house payroll oversight; multi-state payroll experience is strongly preferred, and union payroll experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP or accounting systems, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup functions, and formulas.
Salary: $100K-$120K/year. (DOE)
