Senior NCQA Accreditation Project Manager
Our client is seeking a Senior NCQA Accreditation Project Manager to lead complex accreditation initiatives supporting the integration and standardization of health plan operations across a multi-entity healthcare environment. This strategic project leadership role is ideal for an experienced accreditation professional who thrives in highly collaborative settings, excels at driving process improvements, and can successfully guide cross-functional teams through large-scale organizational change while preparing for accreditation success.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, or North Dakota and will work PST hours.
Senior NCQA Accreditation Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead complex NCQA Health Plan Accreditation initiatives by coordinating the integration and alignment of accreditation processes across multiple health plan entities and product lines.
- Evaluate existing accreditation programs, identify process gaps, and develop implementation strategies that improve consistency, compliance, and operational readiness.
- Manage enterprise-level project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, and deliverables while ensuring successful execution of accreditation-related initiatives.
- Develop and enhance accreditation tracking tools, implementation frameworks, documentation, and reporting processes to support long-term organizational success.
- Partner with cross-functional business and operational stakeholders to facilitate planning sessions, resolve process challenges, and build consensus around standardized accreditation practices.
- Monitor implementation progress through performance metrics, readiness assessments, and regular project status reporting to leadership.
- Create comprehensive documentation, transition plans, workflow guides, and process standards that support sustainable accreditation operations.
- Identify project risks, process conflicts, and operational barriers while recommending practical solutions and escalating critical issues when appropriate.
Senior NCQA Accreditation Project Manager Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct experience supporting NCQA Health Plan Accreditation with demonstrated expertise across multiple accreditation standards.
- 7+ years of project leadership, healthcare administration, implementation, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Proven success leading complex, cross-functional projects involving accreditation, regulatory compliance, process improvement, or organizational transformation.
- Experience developing accreditation management tools, standardized workflows, implementation plans, and governance documentation.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations with the ability to analyze processes, identify gaps, and implement sustainable improvements.
- Experience supporting multi-entity healthcare organizations, Medicaid health plans, or accreditation harmonization initiatives is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence teams across all organizational levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. PMP and/or CPHQ certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience leveraging AI-powered productivity tools is a plus.
- Ability to work Pacific Time Zone business hours and travel occasionally as project needs require.
