Senior Integration Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise integration solutions that connect critical business systems across cloud and on-premises environments. This role is ideal for a technical leader with deep expertise in MuleSoft and Microsoft Azure who thrives on solving complex integration challenges, establishing engineering best practices, and mentoring others while delivering secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that support enterprise-wide initiatives.
This role is on-site in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Senior Integration Engineer Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of enterprise integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Design, develop, and support APIs, event-driven integrations, and messaging solutions utilizing Azure Service Bus, including queues, topics, and subscriptions.
- Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and internal and third-party applications to enable seamless business processes.
- Develop, automate, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to support reliable API and integration deployments.
- Define and promote enterprise integration architecture standards, governance, security, and development best practices.
- Partner with business stakeholders, solution architects, software engineers, and infrastructure teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable integration solutions.
- Lead technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and strategic integration planning across multiple initiatives.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex integration, performance, and production issues while ensuring operational reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, deployment processes, and operational runbooks.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to integration engineers, fostering engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.
Senior Integration Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise integration solutions.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API-led integration architecture.
- Strong experience designing and supporting Azure-based integration solutions, including Azure Service Bus and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise and third-party applications.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP web services, JSON, XML, API security, and modern integration patterns.
- Experience with Git-based source control, branching strategies, and automated deployment practices.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical decision-making.
Preferred:
- MuleSoft Certified Developer or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect certification.
- Salesforce Platform or Integration certifications.
- Experience with API Management platforms and enterprise API governance.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Background supporting integrations in large-scale or highly regulated enterprise organizations.
