IT Support Engineer
Our client is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support in a fast-paced environment while helping ensure employees have reliable access to the technology they need to succeed. This role is ideal for a service-oriented professional who enjoys troubleshooting a wide variety of technical issues, collaborating across teams, and continuously improving the end-user support experience.
This role is on-site in Austin, Texas.
IT Support Engineer Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support for desktop, laptop, mobile, audio/video, networking, and peripheral hardware issues.
- Install, configure, image, and maintain end-user devices while ensuring compliance with security standards and system policies.
- Manage IT hardware and software inventory, procurement, asset tracking, and lifecycle processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support office technology initiatives, employee onboarding, and day-to-day operational needs.
- Coordinate technical support across office locations and assist with communication between local and remote teams.
- Configure business applications and support voice, video conferencing, and collaboration technologies.
- Contribute to process improvements, technical documentation, and internal knowledge resources.
- Mentor team members, participate in cross-functional projects, and recommend improvements to end-user technology and support processes.
IT Support Engineer Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in an IT support, desktop support, or end-user services role.
- Working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems and experience supporting Lenovo and Apple hardware.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and common troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts, including single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and user permissions.
- Experience supporting collaboration and conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Workspace, Slack, or similar technologies is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn emerging technologies and automation tools.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and knowledge articles is preferred.
- Desktop operating system or networking certifications are a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
