Human Resources Coordinator
Our client is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to provide hands-on support within a dynamic manufacturing and distribution environment. This role is ideal for a self-directed HR professional who thrives on creating structure, maintaining consistency, and serving as a trusted resource for employees. The successful candidate will bring a strong customer service mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to independently manage recurring HR processes while fostering a welcoming, open-door atmosphere.
This role is fully on-site in Portland, Oregon.
Human Resources Coordinator Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site HR resource, providing day-to-day administrative support and directing employees to appropriate resources when questions arise.
- Manage attendance-related processes, including reviewing absence reports, maintaining attendance records, and supporting timekeeping activities for hourly employees.
- Coordinate employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding logistics, offboarding tasks, and internal job posting administration.
- Facilitate employee engagement initiatives such as milestone recognition, birthday celebrations, anniversary acknowledgments, and distribution of employee communications and programs.
- Support routine operational activities including payroll distribution, scheduling communications, drug screening coordination, and maintaining workforce-related records.
- Prepare and update internal communications, presentations, organizational materials, and workforce reporting as needed.
- Assist with compliance-related activities and support standardized processes; experience with job description audits or quality management environments is beneficial.
- Maintain accurate employee information within HR systems and ensure timely completion of recurring administrative responsibilities.
Human Resources Coordinator Qualifications
- Previous experience as an HR Coordinator, HR Generalist, or in a similar human resources support role.
- Working knowledge of Oregon employment practices and experience supporting hourly employee populations and timekeeping processes.
- Ability to work independently within a manufacturing, production, or distribution setting with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to maintain an approachable, open-door presence.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and consistently execute recurring administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience using HRIS platforms; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience utilizing tools such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Teams, and Visio.
- Ability to assess employee inquiries, provide appropriate guidance, and escalate matters when necessary.
- Experience supporting ISO-related processes, auditing documentation, or maintaining process consistency is a plus.
- Comfortable interacting with a diverse workforce in a factory environment is essential.
Compensation: $25–$27/hr. (DOE)
