Retail Inventory Analyst
Our client is seeking a Retail Inventory Analyst to support inventory planning, forecasting, and business performance initiatives within a dynamic digital commerce environment. This role serves as a key partner to planning, merchandising, finance, and operational teams, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize inventory investments, improve forecast accuracy, and support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders to drive operational excellence.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Retail Inventory Analyst Responsibilities
- Support inventory planning and demand forecasting processes to ensure alignment between sales targets, inventory investments, and business objectives.
- Analyze sales, inventory, profitability, and operational performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain recurring business reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that support planning and decision-making activities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to reconcile inventory, sales, and forecast plans while ensuring alignment across business functions.
- Support open-to-buy planning, inventory investment strategies, and financial planning activities through data analysis and scenario modeling.
- Monitor key business performance indicators and provide actionable recommendations to improve inventory productivity and channel performance.
- Assist with in-season inventory management activities, including replenishment planning, promotional support, markdown analysis, and inventory optimization efforts.
- Conduct trend analysis and forecasting exercises to support short- and long-term business planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and enhance planning workflows, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present analytical findings, business updates, and planning recommendations to cross-functional partners and leadership teams.
- Support weekly and monthly business reviews through reporting, performance analysis, and operational planning activities.
- Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives focused on improving inventory management, forecasting capabilities, and business outcomes.
Retail Inventory Analyst Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in inventory planning, demand planning, merchandise planning, business analytics, forecasting, supply chain analysis, or a related function.
- Strong understanding of planning processes, inventory management principles, forecasting methodologies, and business performance analysis.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable business insights.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, forecasting models, and data analysis techniques.
- Experience utilizing business intelligence, reporting, or visualization tools to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects to successful completion.
- Experience supporting digital commerce, eCommerce, retail planning, merchandise planning, or consumer products organizations is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory forecasting, open-to-buy planning, assortment planning, or in-season inventory management is highly desirable.
- Experience with enterprise planning, ERP, reporting, or analytics platforms is a plus.
Compensation: Up to $37.32/hr. (DOE)
