WebMethods Integration Developer
Our client is seeking a WebMethods Integration Developer to support enterprise integration initiatives across a complex technology environment. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting APIs and system integrations that connect critical business applications, improve data exchange, and enable strategic technology projects. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise with the webMethods platform, strong integration development skills, and a commitment to building secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
Those role will begin as a hybrid model in Sacramento, California before transitioning to a fully remote role.
WebMethods Integration Developer Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise integrations and APIs using the webMethods platform.
- Build and support RESTful and SOAP-based services that facilitate data exchange between business-critical applications and platforms.
- Develop integrations utilizing secure authentication and authorization methods, including modern identity and access management protocols.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and integration design artifacts.
- Analyze existing systems and identify effective integration approaches across on-premises, cloud-based, and third-party applications.
- Develop middleware components, connectors, and reusable services to support interoperability across multiple business systems.
- Implement event-driven integration patterns, asynchronous messaging solutions, and webhook-based communications where appropriate.
- Ensure integration solutions include robust monitoring, logging, error handling, and transaction management capabilities.
- Design solutions that meet organizational security requirements, including encryption, auditing, and compliance with established cybersecurity standards.
- Optimize integrations for performance, scalability, resiliency, and high availability.
- Develop and execute testing strategies, including unit, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing support.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project leadership to deliver successful integration outcomes.
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities and maintain documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
WebMethods Integration Developer Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing integrations using the webMethods platform.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with webMethods.io or webMethods Cloud Integration solutions.
- Proven experience developing and supporting SAP RFC integrations.
- Strong Java development experience, including creation of custom integration services and components.
- Advanced knowledge of webMethods technologies, including Integration Server, API Gateway, Universal Messaging, Java Service Development, and webMethods.io.
- Experience designing and supporting REST and SOAP APIs utilizing JSON, XML, and related integration standards.
- Strong understanding of API lifecycle management, version control, documentation, and governance best practices.
- Experience implementing secure integration architectures, including OAuth, JWT, SAML, and related authentication frameworks.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices, identity and access management concepts, and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with automated testing, regression testing, and quality assurance processes for integration solutions.
- Familiarity with Trading Networks (EDI/TN) and webMethods Test Suite is preferred.
- Professional certifications related to integration technologies, cloud platforms, or project delivery methodologies are a plus.
- Prior experience supporting large-scale enterprise, utility, energy, government, or highly regulated environments is preferred.
