Data Engineer
Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing technology and data team focused on building a modern enterprise data platform that supports advanced analytics, reporting, and AI-driven initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data solutions within a Microsoft Fabric environment while helping establish the foundation for future data and AI capabilities. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with cloud-based data engineering, data integration, and modern data architecture concepts, along with a passion for delivering reliable, high-quality data solutions that drive business outcomes.

This role is fully remote.

Data Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and related Azure technologies.
  • Build and support data ingestion processes that integrate information from a variety of internal and external data sources.
  • Develop and optimize data solutions across Data Warehouses, Lakehouses, and other modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • Support layered data architectures, including raw, cleansed, and curated data environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of enterprise data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Implement data integration, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Support data quality, governance, and security initiatives across the enterprise data ecosystem.
  • Participate in data platform modernization efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to data pipelines, data models, and operational processes.
  • Assist with testing, deployment, and production support activities for data engineering projects.
  • Investigate and resolve complex data integration, performance, and processing issues across multiple systems and platforms.

Data Engineer Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration, Data Warehousing, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Pipelines, Data Warehouses, and Lakehouse technologies.
  • Experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT processes within cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and related Azure data technologies.
  • Experience building and optimizing large-scale data processing and transformation workflows.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles and multi-layered data environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot data quality, performance, and integration challenges.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within financial services, payments, fintech, banking, or other regulated industries is preferred.
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or related cloud certifications are a plus.
