Senior Electronics Technician
Our client is seeking a Senior Electronics Technician to play a critical hands-on role in the development, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of sophisticated electronic systems within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong problem solver who enjoys working closely with engineering teams, tackling complex hardware challenges, and serving as a subject matter expert across product development and production support.

This role is fully on-site in Aloha, Oregon.

Senior Electronics Technician Responsibilities

  • Independently build, assemble, solder, modify, and rework complex electronic assemblies, including fine-pitch surface-mount PCB components.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and debugging at both the PCB and full system level across analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, and RF circuitry.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware failures through structured root-cause analysis, corrective action development, and technical problem solving.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering change implementation, design validation activities, and new product development initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and support sophisticated RF-based electronic assemblies, including signal transmission, receiving, and conditioning systems.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating EMI/EMC performance issues through practical troubleshooting techniques, including grounding, shielding, filtering, and design feedback.
  • Support calibration, verification, and technical testing activities to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Review, refine, and improve assembly processes, test procedures, troubleshooting methods, and repair documentation to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and service teams to support product improvements and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation in alignment with quality system requirements and regulated environment standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ESD handling protocols, workplace safety requirements, and established quality procedures.
  • Serve as a technical resource for less experienced technicians, providing mentorship, troubleshooting guidance, and knowledge sharing.

Senior Electronics Technician Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent combination of technical education and relevant hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Electronics Technician working with complex electronic assemblies and systems.
  • Advanced expertise in analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF, and power electronics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Proven experience debugging complex PCB assemblies and diagnosing failures at both component and system levels.
  • Strong soldering, rework, and modification experience, including fine-pitch surface-mount components.
  • Proficiency with advanced electronic diagnostic and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and related instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize technical issues, and make sound troubleshooting decisions with minimal oversight.
  • Experience supporting both R&D/prototype hardware and production/manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments, such as FDA-regulated or ISO-compliant settings, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC troubleshooting and mitigation techniques is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting medical electronics, ultrasound-based systems, or other highly complex electronic products is a plus.
  • IPC certifications (IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-7711/7721) are desirable.
  • Strong documentation habits, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and collaborative communication skills.
