Trade Specialist
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Trade Specialist to support international trade compliance, customs operations, and trade optimization efforts within a fast-paced global organization. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in cross-functional environments, enjoys solving complex compliance and data challenges, and can balance operational execution with strategic trade program support.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Trade Specialist Responsibilities

  • Support free trade optimization and customs compliance initiatives by analyzing product, sourcing, and supply chain data to identify opportunities for duty savings and trade program utilization.
  • Interpret and apply Free Trade Agreement requirements and Rules of Origin to assess product eligibility for preferential trade treatment.
  • Review, assign, and validate product classification data, tariff codes, and customs documentation to ensure accurate and compliant import/export activity.
  • Maintain and audit trade-related product attributes, sourcing information, and system data to support trade accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including supply chain, sourcing, product, technology, and global trade teams to align product data with customs and regulatory requirements.
  • Support trade compliance audits by reviewing documentation, identifying data discrepancies, researching gaps, and helping drive issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with external partners such as customs brokers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to ensure timely and accurate trade documentation and execution.
  • Track, analyze, and report on trade compliance metrics, product data trends, and operational opportunities using Excel and other internal tools.
  • Assist in improving trade compliance workflows, documentation practices, and operational processes to strengthen efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and compliance accuracy.

Trade Specialist Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, supply chain operations, or a related function.
  • Working knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, trade preference programs, and Rules of Origin.
  • Experience with product classification, tariff coding, customs declarations, or trade documentation processes preferred.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills with the ability to interpret large or complex datasets.
  • Experience working with trade, customs, or supply chain systems and maintaining data integrity across platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including technical, operational, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in international business environments, across multiple countries or cultures, with additional language skills preferred.

Compensation: Up to $42.25/hr. (DOE)
