This role will focus on driving alignment, improving processes, and helping cross-functional teams maintain momentum through fast-paced and evolving development cycles. The ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building structure where needed, and can effectively bridge communication between engineering, product, design, and quality teams.
This role is on-site in Beaverton, Oregon.
Technical Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead execution and coordination of software and firmware development projects across cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog prioritization, bug triage, and agile delivery activities within JIRA.
- Build, refine, and improve project management processes to support evolving team and product needs.
- Drive accountability by tracking action items, timelines, deliverables, and project dependencies.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies, working sessions, and stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment and forward progress.
- Partner closely with engineering, QA, product, and design teams to clarify priorities and resolve roadblocks.
- Identify project risks, gaps, and process inefficiencies early while proactively driving solutions.
- Maintain clear project documentation, status updates, and communication materials to support execution transparency.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to support decision-making and alignment.
- Support development efforts tied to integrated hardware, firmware, mobile applications, or connected product ecosystems.
- Contribute to a collaborative, action-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
Technical Project Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as an IT or Technical Project Manager within software and firmware development environments.
- Strong experience serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or technical delivery lead.
- Proven experience supporting software and firmware development lifecycles in agile environments.
- Advanced proficiency with JIRA for backlog management, sprint planning, issue tracking, and workflow optimization.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies, project execution frameworks, and cross-functional team coordination.
- Experience building or improving operational processes in environments without established playbooks or structures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, design, and QA teams.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects forward with minimal oversight.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
- Experience working alongside engineers and understanding technical development workflows highly preferred.
- Familiarity with mobile applications, cloud technologies, firmware development, or hardware-integrated products is highly desired.
- Experience supporting embedded systems, robotics, wearables, or mechatronics-related development efforts is a plus.
