HR Generalist
Our non-profit client is seeking an experienced and adaptable Human Resources Generalist to support their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who brings strong operational judgment, exceptional customer service, and the ability to bring structure to ambiguity while supporting employees through the full HR lifecycle.
This role is fully on-site in SE Portland, Oregon.
HR Generalist Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, employee status changes, offer letters, and personnel records administration.
- Lead benefits administration activities including employee support, billing reconciliation, enrollment coordination, and benefits-related issue resolution.
- Facilitate high-volume onboarding and new hire orientation, including seasonal workforce ramp-up, HRIS setup, and ensuring a smooth employee experience.
- Assess existing HR processes, identify operational gaps, and develop or improve SOPs, documentation, and HR workflows for greater efficiency and consistency.
- Maintain HR systems and employee data integrity, support recruiting activities as needed, and assist with knowledge transfer to incoming permanent HR staff.
HR Generalist Qualifications
- Proven HR Generalist experience with experience in onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.
- Experience with benefits billing, reconciliations, and employee benefits administration in a fast-paced HR environment.
- Hands-on HRIS experience required; Paycom experience strongly preferred, along with intermediate Excel proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, improve processes, and create structure with limited documentation or oversight.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm, organized, and adaptable while managing shifting priorities.
Compensation: $32-$38/hr. (DOE)
