Diesel Mechanic / Technician
Our client is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic / Technician to join their team in a full-service heavy equipment environment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs, values teamwork, and is committed to providing a seamless, customer-focused service experience. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical expertise along with a dependable, proactive approach to their work.
This role is on-site in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Diesel Mechanic / Technician Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.
- Accurately identify mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Document work performed, including parts used and labor time, ensuring accuracy for service records and billing.
- Collaborate with service advisors, parts teams, and shop leadership to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Inspect vehicles to identify additional repair needs and communicate findings appropriately.
Diesel Mechanic / Technician Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a truck dealership or heavy-duty repair environment.
- Certifications in Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and/or ASE Heavy Duty strongly preferred.
- Experience working with Freightliner equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with flat-rate or commission-based shop environments preferred.
- CDL Class A license preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must possess personal tools required to perform job duties.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
