Senior Project Manager (Infrastructure & Communications)
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure and communications modernization initiatives across a multi-state environment. This individual will bring strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to drive large-scale programs from planning through execution while collaborating across technical and business teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and deliver results in highly regulated, mission-critical environments.
This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon.
Senior Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale, complex projects and programs, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and key deliverables.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define objectives, align priorities, and ensure successful execution.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear updates.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints, proactively developing mitigation and contingency strategies.
- Oversee vendor relationships, procurement activities, and contract execution to align with project goals.
- Manage project financials, including cost forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate resource planning and negotiate availability across internal teams and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and security considerations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, manage change control processes, and provide regular status reporting.
Senior Project Manager Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive project management experience leading large, complex, and mission-critical initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or programs with competing priorities and timelines.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working in technical environments involving infrastructure, network communications, or systems integration.
- Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and manage challenging conversations with professionalism.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and contract oversight.
- Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, or security-focused environments is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree and/or PMP (or equivalent) certification preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting telecommunications, radio, microwave, or telemetry-related projects.
- Exposure to infrastructure, construction coordination, permitting, or field-based deployments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, network communications, or IT/OT environments.
- Experience working within regulated industries such as utilities or critical infrastructure.
