Service Center Manager
Our client is seeking a hands-on and entrepreneurial Service Center Manager to lead operations at a newly established warehouse facility. This individual will thrive in a build-from-scratch environment, bringing a proactive mindset, strong operational leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute, with the ability to turn an undefined space into a high-performing operation.
This role is on-site in Westfield, Indiana.
Service Center Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and day-to-day operations of a new warehouse facility, establishing workflows across receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping.
- Build, hire, and develop a high-performing team while setting clear expectations and driving accountability across all operational functions.
- Partner closely with Sales and internal stakeholders to ensure responsiveness, service quality, and alignment with customer needs.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, logistics coordination, and material flow to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
- Establish and optimize processes, leveraging KPIs and continuous improvement practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and turnaround times.
- Manage service, inspection, and future repair/refurbishment operations to ensure consistent product quality and performance standards.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and compliance standards, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
- Design and evolve warehouse layout and workflows, with the ability to interpret plans or blueprints to maximize space and efficiency.
- Maintain equipment and facility readiness to support safe, reliable, and scalable operations.
- Identify opportunities to expand capabilities, improve service offerings, and support long-term business growth.
Service Center Manager Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or a related industrial environment.
- Proven ability to build or scale operations, including establishing processes, hiring teams, and driving execution in ambiguous environments.
- Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to engage directly in day-to-day warehouse activities as needed.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, logistics coordination, and operational workflows.
- Experience supporting customer-facing or sales-driven operations with a focus on service levels and responsiveness.
- Ability to analyze data, track performance metrics, and implement process improvements.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Familiarity with warehouse design, layout optimization, or blueprint interpretation is highly preferred.
- Well-rounded operational background, with exposure to supply chain, technical, or light engineering environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred; certifications such as Lean, Six Sigma, or APICS are a plus.
Salary: $100K-$120K/year. (DOE)
